J. Namdev Hardisty

J. Namdev Hardisty is a designer, artist and educator and one-half of the Minneapolis-based creative studio, The MVA. "New Skateboard Graphics" is his first book. Mark Batty Publisher wil be releasing his second book later this year, "DIY Album Art: Paper Bags & Office Supplies", a collection of hand-crafted records from the 1990's punk and hardcore scenes.

Namdev’s hand-made typography and patterns have been featured in the books “Hand Job: A Catalog of Type”, which he also contributed an essay to, and “Over and Over: A Catalog of Hand-drawn Patterns”, both from author Mike Perry and Princeton Architectural Press.

He also runs the micro-record label, Hardisty-Disk.

His favorite skate graphic ever is the Per Welinder “Screaming Skull” by V. Cortland Johnson.
